The Internet Economy after 10 years …

In many ways, this story parallels my early career. I was in graduate school at Stanford when Jerry Yang and David Filo quit their Ph.D. programs to found Yahoo! I jumped off the Ph.D. track myself to get into high-tech strategy consulting, then left for a start-up that rode the Internet wave, ultimately ending up at Yahoo! just as the bubble was bursting.

Five years later, the Internet is such a pervasive part of everyday life and business. As you think about your own business, what role does the Internet play now and in the future?
